Prepping Container Herbs in Two Microgardens

I set up my microgardens today. I’ve got two units that can each accommodate 12 pods. I didn’t count the pods ahead of time, though! So that limited me to 17 total; I ended up using 4 each of basil and dill, and the remaining 9 for oregano, cilantro, and arugula.

I'm planning to transplant these into containers in 4 to 5 weeks after letting the root systems develoop a bit. Hopefully, when I plant the full garden, these will be in good shape! I always supplement container herbs with additional seeds, and thin and replant seeds as necessary throughout the summer.

Bonus Content! I found this old picture on my phone from December 2025. You can see what I had going on in the microgardens over the winter:

In the winter, I mainly use the microgarden to grow herbs and leafy greens that are useful in some of my go-to recipes. This winter, we had lettuce, arugula, dill, cilantro & chives growing. The arugula and lettuce were very successful.

I'm a HUGE fan of Arugula, so I try to grow it year-round!
