Watch This Caterpillar Munch On Some Dill in Real Time!

Found a bunch of striped caterpillars completely taking over the dill today. Turns out they’re black swallowtails.

On one hand, cool, butterflies!

On the other hand, they are hungry hungry caterpillars... And going to town on the dill!

Since it's not really a symbiotic relationship, but I don't want to kill a bunch of caterpillars, I ended up moving all of them to one sacrificial pot.

I also ​moved my best looking dill to another spot away from those containers, and used this as an opportunity to replant fresh dill seeds in one of the containers.

Hopefully those caterpillars will grow to be gorgeous butterflies!
